Are we losing the War on Christmas?

by A.Vasquez on 10/25/12

Trying to find a car commercial this December that actually mentions Christmas is pretty close to impossible. WeSayChristmas.net looked at 14 major car companies and their commercials and found no mention of Christmas. I'm sure many are familiar with popular holiday campaigns like Lexus's December to Remember, BMW's Joy Sales Event, Mercedes-Benz's Winter Event and the notorious Happy Honda Days. The closest we came to identifying Christmas in a commercial was when Hyundai used the song "Up on the Housetop" in a commercial yet their commercials prominently feature Hyundai Holidays.

During a recent one hour "Holiday Special" on the Food Network we counted 19 mentions of the word holiday and only two mentions of Christmas. WeSayChristmas.net believes the two mentions of Christmas were accidental and that hosts and other participants in this special were instructed not to say Christmas.

The war on Christmas has never been more apparent. Why is it when Christmas is over we stop saying Happy Holidays? Should we say Happy Holiday instead of Happy New Year? Should we rename Thanksgiving to Holidaygiving? Christmas is a federally recognized holiday but most public schools don't even mention it. Progressives want Christmas to be an archaic expression that people used to say around December 25th. Don't let that happen. Never before in the history of the U.S. has intolerance against Christmas and Christians been greater than it is today.
